Volunteer Doctor (volunteer, minimum 2 weeks)
Our doctors, are responsible for ensuring high quality care for patients and their family (please note that all pregnant women and children are currently seen by MSF, so we are in need of doctors who have knowledge and experience in adult health care). Must be able to work in a context of low setting resources, be open and flexible to the conditions around them, be comfortable and confident to see patients alone (with a translator present). Involves collaborating with local authorities and health facilities, reporting to the organisation (ERCI) and authorities.
Triage Nurse/Paramedic (volunteer, minimum 2 weeks)
The ERCImed Clinic in Moria camp accommodates three consultation rooms for 1 senior Greek Doctor and 2-3 additional Doctors. The triage nurse/paramedic plays a vital role supporting the Clinic Coordinator to triage and admit patients for consultations. The Triage Nurse/Paramedic will work alongside interpreters to assess the needs outside the clinic and also support the doctors with nursing duties such as wound care, taking vitals, urine tests etc.
Kids Activities (volunteer, minimum 1 month)
Kids activities volunteers play an important role in building trust with the community and represent ERCI values of friendliness, professionalism and caring. Kids activities volunteers should be able to work in a resource poor environment with children aged 6 to 12 years old who may have behavioural or emotional problems or may have suffered trauma in the past. We aim to provide a fun and friendly environment for children to learn about themselves and the world around them. Must be flexible and easily able to adapt in what can be an ever changing environment.
Interpreter (volunteer, minimum 2 weeks)
Translation primarily for medical examinations, crowd management, cultural mediation.
In a sensitive and delicate environment, the role of the interpreter is essential as s/he is the person facilitating the communication between the medical team and the patient. Must be aware of the fact that you will be privy to a lot of distressing information whilst completing this vital role.
Site Support and SAR (volunteer, minimum 1 month)
The needs of the community are very diverse and changing constantly. We are looking for site support and SAR (Search and Rescue) volunteers who will be working on a daily basis in the camp and along the shoreline (on rotation with day off accordingly). Your tasks in camp are running and maintaining washing machines, and assisting camp management with site support when needed.
Communication and Media (volunteer, minimum 3 months)
The ERCI communications team works to build a network of donors and volunteers to sustain ERCI’s ongoing field programs. Communications and Media Volunteers help translate the work being done by ERCI into written and visual media that communicate ERCI’s mission and impact to a global audience of current and potential supporters. We seek to tell stories of how ERCI is helping refugees overcome obstacles in their effort to escape violence and hardship and reclaim their rights and dignity. Ideal communications volunteers will bring creativity, patience, flexibility and openness to new ideas to help ERCI expand our voice. Field shifts necessary.
Volunteer Coordinator (volunteer, minimum 3 months)
ERCI is looking for a motivated, proactive and organized Volunteer Coordinator. This volunteer position is a great opportunity to gain experience in the field and be part of a young and committed team. Your role as Volunteer Coordinator will be mainly focused on managing volunteers all throughout their volunteer work experience. This includes responding to FAQ’s prior to their arrival, managing their reception and introduction as well as providing general support during their stay. You will also coordinate the group as well as carry out team building activities.
Administration (volunteer, minimum 3 months)
ERCI is looking for a motivated, proactive and organized Admin Volunteer. Your role as an Admin Volunteer will be providing crucial support to the Operations Manager, mainly focused on managing volunteer preparation and their paper work. This position is a great opportunity to gain experience in Admin and Logistics tasks while being part of a young and committed team. It involves very little to no shift work in the camps and only in cases where the volunteer wishes to actively participate.
